storytelling with soul

Born and raised in Aotearoa New Zealand, Niki Kennedy is a Pasifika singer, songwriter, and musician based in Vancouver. Anchored by feel-good grooves and emotive melodies, she blurs roots, soul, and pop sensibilities to offer honest storytelling with heart.

A career performer, Niki has had the privilege of playing hundreds of stages, from large festivals to intimate rooms, with recent appearances at RBC GranFondo Whistler, World Trade Centre Export Awards, Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival, Steveston Spot Prawn and Seafood Festival, PNE Winter Fair, and the Music on the Wharf Concert Series.

Her releases have landed her multiple appearances on television and radio, including live performances on CTV Morning and Humber Radio, commercial radio support in Australia, alongside songwriting recognition as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, Unsigned Only Music Competition, and as a Finalist Award winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

She was selected as one of 28 participants in the 2021 SOCAN Foundation’s TD Incubator for Creative Entrepreneurship, a program “designed to identify, celebrate, and support the next generation of music creators that have demonstrated extraordinary potential” as well as a participant in the Equity X Production I & II programs. She holds a First Class Honours degree in Music & Sound and is currently working toward her Master of Music with a songwriting and music production pathway.

Niki shares openly in the hope listeners will feel seen, heard, and a little less alone, crafting space for listeners to connect and build community through music.

She is currently producing her sophomore EP, The Space In Between, for release in 2025.
